Job summary

Synergy Flavors, part of the Carbery Group, is seeking a Director of Procurement to lead the procurement team, drive strategic sourcing, and manage supplier relationships. This role collaborates with multiple functions to meet savings, PPV, and cash flow targets, with a focus on OTIF and raw material quality.

Hybrid work in Wauconda, IL is supported. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in food & beverage procurement, APICS/CPM is preferred, and 6+ years of people leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; APICS and CPM certifications preferred.
• 10+ years of procurement experience in food & beverage with expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier optimization, negotiating, contracting and risk management.
• 6+ years of direct staff management with proven leadership delivering business results.
• Strong team-building skills and ability to develop team members.
• Cross-functional experience across Supply Chain, Operations, R&D, Quality, Sales and leadership.
• Business and financial acumen with ability to communicate to senior stakeholders.
• Travel up to 25% to vendor sites and Synergy manufacturing locations.

Responsibilities

• Leads strategic sourcing, planning and project management for the procurement team.
• Drives cost management, service levels, cash flow and risk mitigation.
• Establishes alliances with internal/external stakeholders and drives category strategy.
• Supports growth initiatives and integration of acquisitions/divestitures.
• Leads cross-functional teams and mentors staff.
• Ensures compliance with procurement policies and controls.
