Job summary

The Graduate Center of the City University of New York is seeking an experienced Director of Purchasing and Contracts to lead the GC, ASRC and Macaulay Honors College procurement operations.

Reporting to the Vice President for Finance, the role oversees a team of three, manages high-value contracts, and ensures compliance with New York State and CUNY procurement rules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
• Experience with New York State or New York City purchasing rules preferred.
• Previous experience in public higher education preferred.
• Knowledge of Jagger Purchasing system.
• Working knowledge of Workday Financial System.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs purchasing and contracting operations for GC, ASRC, and Macaulay Honors College.
• Oversees procurement within NYS/CUNY regulations.
• Manages staff of three in Purchasing Office.
• Handles high-value DASNY/GRTI processes and contract approvals.
• Represents the department in Board resolutions and procurement committees.
