Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Procurement Buyer to support plant procurement strategies and secure best value for materials and services. The role reports to the Procurement Plant Lead and works closely with Receiving, Shipping, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Accounts Payable and other internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; or a minimum of 3 years of procurement experience.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare requests for quotation and proposals in support of plant requirements.
• Evaluate supplier quotations and perform cost analyses to determine best overall value.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and lead times aligned with plant objectives.
• Issue purchase orders against approved requisitions to support production and inventory needs.
• Monitor invoices on hold and resolve discrepancies with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Receiving, Shipping, Operations, Engineering, and Finance to resolve issues efficiently.
• Assist onboarding of new suppliers and setup of new items in applicable systems.
• Adhere to global procurement procedures, quality requirements, and audit standards.
