Job summary

SMC is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement of materials, components, equipment and services for production and operations in Noblesville, IN. You’ll obtain quotes, manage vendor relations, and support cross‑functional teams including engineering, production and quality.

The role requires 1–3 years in procurement, a bachelor’s degree, and familiarity with ERP systems. You’ll help ensure timely deliveries and drive cost savings while adhering to policies and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing in industrial automation or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal teams and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Manage timely procurement of materials and services per project timelines, budget, and quality.
• Maintain supplier relationships to ensure best pricing, quality, and delivery; monitor performance.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
• Conduct regular cost analyses to identify potential savings and drive cost-reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and logistics to meet specifications and delivery targets.
• Assist in purchasing activities, ensure compliance with policies and ISO requirements.
