Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Technical Director, Project Management – Power Generation to lead complex OE/FEED programs and deliver high-value engineering projects. You will manage budgets, KPIs, risk, and safety while guiding multi-disciplinary teams and engaging clients at senior levels.

The role requires 12+ years in project management within A/E/C, strong leadership, and a proven track record in power generation projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related major, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in a project management role.
  • Advanced understanding of project delivery within the A/E/C industry and large-scale PM.
  • Analytical and organizational skills with business acumen.
  • Strong knowledge of PM principles, practices, and tools (MS Office suite).
  • Ability to lead multiple large-scale projects and teams.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the most complex and largest scale OE/FEED projects, managing budgets, forecasts, margins and KPIs.
  • Foster effective stakeholder engagement and report on progress.
  • Guide pursuit/initiation activities including risk mitigation, pricing, and Go/No-Go decisions.
  • Mentor senior professionals in risk concepts and stakeholder engagement.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, presentations, and meetings.
  • Ensure profitable performance and successful completion of projects.
  • Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary teams and strategic client advice.
  • Maintain updates to risk, project management plans, QA/QC, safety plans, and communications plans.
  • Lead project management discipline meetings and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop project recovery plans for budget overruns with clients.
  • Provide regular project reporting to clients and business unit managers.
  • Closeout activities and lessons learned; stay current with PM practices.
