Jobtailor is seeking a senior lead in strategic asset allocation to drive research globally, establish robust analytical principles, and oversee a team of analysts in building proprietary tools.

The role emphasizes integration of discretionary elements, cross-team collaboration, and thought leadership in multi-asset modeling and capital market assumptions. Expect client-facing interactions and vendor evaluation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of financial services experience including multi-asset or alternative investments portfolio construction.
• Practical experience in portfolio optimization and multi-asset modeling.
• Master’s or PhD degree in a STEM discipline is strongly preferred.
• Deep understanding of multi-asset and/or alternative investments.
• Excellent quantitative research and modeling skills, from mathematical foundations to practical implementation.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to collaborate and drive execution.
• Familiarity with modern application development, including object-oriented architecture, R/Python, SQL, GitHub, AI-augmented programming, and user support.
• Practical experience in AI-augmented or AI Agentic workflow transformation.
• Proven management and talent development abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead research for strategic asset allocation activities globally and across multiple channels.
• Establish and facilitate global consistency of architecture and analytical principles behind strategic asset allocation.
• Identify and integrate discretionary elements for practical, channel- and region-specific implementation.
• Work with the Head of Research, portfolio management teams, strategy teams, and subject matter experts.
• Oversee and manage a small team of research analysts.
• Own and oversee further development of proprietary strategic asset allocation tools.
• Vet and rationalize vendor tools and analytics used in strategic asset allocation processes.
• Own the capital market assumptions process and oversee capital market assumptions production.
• Articulate strategic portfolio construction philosophy and analytical principles.
• Define strategic asset allocation methodology and processes by channel.
• Separate systematic and discretionary elements and incorporate guardrails.
• Incorporate robust portfolio optimization into strategic asset allocation analytics and processes.
• Develop glidepath fundamentals and customization methodologies for defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
• Enable alternative investment integration into strategic asset allocation.
• Meet with clients and consultants as required.
• Create thought leadership content as needed.
