Job summary

Markent Personnel seeks a Plant Controller to lead the financial direction of a complex manufacturing facility in Illinois. You will partner with Operations to drive profitability, manage budgeting and forecasting, and supervise the Accounting team for accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities include standard costing, inventory controls, month-end close, capital planning, and internal controls, while mentoring staff and ensuring GAAP compliance and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of Controller or Plant Controller experience in manufacturing.
• Strong financial leadership in a complex manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial operations for the manufacturing facility, ensuring accurate reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and analyses.
• Develop the annual operating budget, forecasts, and business plan.
• Partner with Plant Leadership to guide strategic and operational decisions.
• Analyze costs, performance, and opportunities to improve profitability.
• Oversee standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost controls.
• Manage month-end and year-end closes with GAAP compliance.
• Develop and mentor the Accounting team.
