Job summary

Silgan Closures in Champaign, IL, seeks a Manufacturing Plant Controller to lead plant accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, inventory control, and internal controls. You will partner with Operations and corporate leadership to improve financial performance and drive operational excellence.

The role requires a Bachelor's in accounting/finance, 5+ years in manufacturing accounting, strong Excel, and ERP experience (JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive manufacturing accounting experience.
• Strong background in Manufacturing Cost accounting, standard costing, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems; SOX/internal controls knowledge is a plus.
• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting and manufacturing finance, with monthly close and variance analysis.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial plans.
• Manage cost accounting, standard costing, and BOMs.
• Maintain internal controls and reconcile inventory.
• Partner with operations and leadership to drive cost reductions and profitability.
