Job summary

City of Pittsburgh seeks a senior planning executive to lead the Department of City Planning and its Strategic Planning division. You will guide long-range planning, equity initiatives, housing, environment and open space, and accessibility planning while coordinating with other departments and partners to move plans to implementation.

The role oversees Forging PGH, the City’s Comprehensive Plan, and the Neighborhood Planning Program, shaping land use and capital investments with a strong focus

Qualifications

Five (5) years of full-time experience in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Public Administration or Public Policy Management or a related field.
Master's degree from a fully accredited institution in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Public Administration or related field.
Total Qualifying Requirement is eleven (11) years when combining education/training and work experience.

Responsibilities

Plays a role in strategic direction and management of the Department and aligns operations with the City’s goals.
Manages and supervises a division with long-range planning responsibilities.
Directs the development and implementation of Forging PGH, the City’s Comprehensive Plan and related initiatives.
Directs the Neighborhood Planning Program and public engagement around long-range planning.
