SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Hybrid - Typically in the office on Wednesdays.

Responsible for providing data driven analytical support to the leadership of Penn State Health System in the day to day activities required in all areas of strategic planning and business development relative to developing, directing and communicating new or expanded clinical and business opportunities. Facilitates the development and maintenance of data collection, analysis and reporting on internal data and external market and environmental data to assist leadership in making sound business decisions. The Analyst is responsible for the overall development, analysis, reporting, dissection and distribution of relevant data, sets, metrics and other related material utilizing the databases and tools established by Penn State Health for strategic planning and business planning. The Data Analyst must be organized and understand complex data systems and be able to translate data into operational efficiencies, financial plans, business plans, and strategic recommendations to Senior Leadership. The Analyst must be able to work independently, and be able to decipher program and government regulations related to data use and management. The Analyst reports to the Director of Strategic Planning within the department of the Chief Strategy Officer.

MinimumQualifications:

  • Bachelordegreerequired.
  • A degree in Business, Healthcare Management, Economics, or a Quantitative Discipline is preferred.
  • Strongcommunicationskills, presentation skills, andproficiency inquantitativeanalysis isrequired
  • ProficiencyinPower Point,Access, and AdvancedExcel skills required (Pivot Tables, VLookups, Nested If statements, etc)
  • KnowledgeofSQLand/orSASispreferred. Ability to query data using a variety of Business Intelligence Tools required (ie. MicroStrategy, Tableau, PowerPivot)
  • Knowledge of PHC-4 Inpatient and Aggregate Claims data preferred
  • Abilitytomanagemultiple projects simultaneouslyandworkunder pressurerequiredAbilitytoadaptandrespond tounexpectedchanges required

Preferred Qualifications:
