Qualifications

• Knowledge of Florida Statutes 163, 380.05, Areas of Critical State Concern.
• Skills in utilizing Geographic Information Systems and property records.
• Ability to express scientific and legal concepts in plain language.
• Ability to interpret rules, codes, statutes and comprehensive plan policies.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Use of standard office software and email tools.
• Licensure/registration/certification requirements (If applicable).

Responsibilities

• Reviews comprehensive plan amendments for consistency with statutes.
• Reviews land development regulations and prepares reports.
• Researches studies and provides recommendations on applicability.
• Reviews environmental permits and development proposals and prepares recommendations.
• Coordinates with interagency and local/state agencies and stakeholders.
• Prepares annual Florida Keys Work Program Report and briefs Cabinet staff.
• Responds to information requests from the Governor’s Office and other agencies.
• Provides technical assistance to local governments interpreting and applying Florida Keys Work Program tasks.
