Job summary

The Diocese of Charlotte is seeking a gift officer to secure planned gifts and grow endowment support for the Foundation and ministries of the Diocese. You will cultivate relationships with Catholic Heritage Society members and parish leaders through visits, calls, and written communication.

The role emphasizes donor engagement, stewardship, and collaboration with parishes and schools to strengthen endowment initiatives across 93 parishes and 20 schools, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of demonstrated experience in professional fund development.
• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years’ fund development experience in lieu of degree.
• Ability to initiate conversations with donors and parish leaders.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate, solicit, and steward planned giving prospects and Catholic Heritage Society members.
• Assist in acquisition and growth of endowments for the Foundation.
• Develop relationships with donors through face-to-face visits, calls, and correspondence.
• Travel to parishes to provide leadership and support.
• Track planned gifts and provide timely reports.
