Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Consultant, PJM Market Policy, to shape market policy across PJM and advocate with stakeholders. This on-site role requires extensive knowledge of PJM rules and active collaboration with business units, regulators, and industry groups.

You will lead policy discussions, influence market positions, and travel to industry events while advancing regulatory filings and education efforts aligned with company objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years relevant work experience in energy/utilities with focus on public policy development/implementation.
• Experience with the RTO/ISO stakeholder process; PJM preferred.
• Ability to convey complex technical information to varied audiences.
• Understanding of the energy industry with PJM market knowledge.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building to represent the company externally.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with company objectives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions with internal and external experts on PJM markets and market policy.
• Serve as FE’s primary contact with PJM for market policy matters and advocate at PJM/MA leadership.
• Analyze PJM Market Rules and Governing Agreements to assess business impact.
• Provide strategic guidance on complex PJM issues and educate stakeholders.
• Build consensus among internal/external stakeholders and direct advocacy at PJM.
• Advance external advocacy efforts and represent FE in industry coalitions and conferences.
• Attend and contribute at PJM committees and board meetings with travel.
