The position reports to the Manager, Pharmacy Operations and requires Illinois Pharmacy Technician licensure, purchasing experience, and strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent service to staff and patients.

Qualifications

• Licensure as an Illinois Pharmacy Technician.
• Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience with negotiating techniques.
• Two years of hospital Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
• Associate's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain department inventory ensuring adequate pharmaceutical supply.
• Select vendors and process purchase orders for pharmaceuticals.
• Communicate delays, back orders, shortages, recalls, and release dates.
• Process returns of outdated pharmaceuticals and oversee recalls.
• Prepare inventory reports for the Director of Pharmacy.
• Assist in training staff and assist pharmacists with monthly CII inventory.
