Job summary

The Sun Rose West Hollywood is seeking a Director of People to lead the human resources function for a 149-room hotel, overseeing recruiting, training, wage and benefit administration, and compliance with applicable laws.

The role partners with the General Manager and management team to build a high-performing, guest-focused staff, ensuring policies are implemented and associates are developed while maintaining a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ Years of Human Resources Experience.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field or HR certification is helpful.
• Ability to deal effectively with all applicants and associates with tact and diplomacy, to diffuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
• Thorough knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures as well as considerable knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance, guidance and counseling to the General Manager, management staff and associates to maximize quality and professionalism of hotel staff.
• Ensure associates are developed and utilized to their maximum potential by administering training programs.
• Direct and instruct management in effective recruiting and interviewing techniques to hire qualified associates.
• Conduct interviews for all management positions and complete pre-selection activities including drug testing, background checks, etc.
• Ensure compliance with Company policies and Federal, State and Local laws pertaining to Human Resources and Affirmative Action.
