Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club, Inc. is seeking a DC Strategic Optimization Specialist to collaborate with internal units and vendor partners to drive efficiencies and reduce ambient and perishable distribution costs.

The role uses data analytics to understand, predict, and improve DC processes, assembling data and delivering recommendations aligned with strategic priorities. The position is based onsite at an Ambient or Perishable distribution center and requires strong data skills, Excel proficiency, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
• 2-4 years of retail or distribution experience preferred.
• Tableau or other data visualization experience a plus.
• SAP or similar ERP systems experience a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Advanced).

Responsibilities

• Gather and interpret relevant data (costs, productivity, volume patterns, etc.).
• Investigate problems, root cause analysis, and develop solutions.
• Develop periodic performance reports and distribute them to key distribution operations stakeholders.
• Provide analytical support for projects, strategic initiatives, and proposals.
• Coordinate DC Operations activities as required.
• Provide analysis of KPI’s for the DC operations network.
• Assist with inventory visibility across the DC network.
• Support planning & allocation, transportation and DCs teams with reporting.

This is accomplished using analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance DC operations processes. The Specialist is responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support the organization’s strategic priorities and objectives.
