Job summary

Quill, part of Staples, seeks an Associate Category Merchant to shape and grow product lines. You will manage product-line P&L and partner across merchandising, pricing, analytics, marketing, eCommerce, customer relations, and sales to support sales and margin goals.

You will combine financial analysis, vendor collaboration, assortment planning, and promotional execution to create a strong online shopping experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of buying-related experience (merchandising, planning, inventory, marketing or sales).
• Experience with online merchandising strategies and practices.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; capable of spreadsheet manipulation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic business plans for assigned product lines.
• Manage product lifecycle including assortment planning, vendor selection and pricing.
• Collaborate with merchandising leadership to boost sales and margins.
• Coordinate with teams to enhance online shopping experience using data insights.
• Support promotional go-to-market strategies and key product promotions.
• Negotiate with vendors for funding and favorable terms.
• Monitor market trends and purchase data to identify opportunities and risks.
• Interpret financial reports to guide product-line decisions.
• Develop pricing strategies with Pricing team and provide cross-team direction.
