The Product Procurement Engineer at Caterpillar Mossville, IL will shape sourcing strategies for NPIs and cost-reduction initiatives across Power & Energy Procurement. You will drive RFx packages, select high-performing suppliers, and ensure timely arrival of pilot and production parts to support launches.

Collaborating across engineering, supply chain, and product teams, you will leverage data-driven insights to optimize total cost of ownership while aligning with Caterpillar's supplier

Qualifications

• Extensive understanding of effective communication concepts and practices.
• Strong cost-benefit analysis skills for evaluating supplier proposals and projects.
• Experience in managing supplier relationships including raw materials and components.
• Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods and continuous improvement of procurement processes.
• Ability to work with diverse teams and build collaborative relationships.

Responsibilities

• Shape sourcing strategies by developing clear, competitive RFx packages.
• Influence make-or-buy decisions through procurement insights.
• Identify and select high-performing suppliers for new product introduction parts.
• Deliver measurable value through cost avoidance and reduction initiatives.
• Move supplier tooling requests forward to support program readiness.
• Ensure pilot and production parts arrive when needed to keep launches moving.
• Partner across teams to keep NPI programs on track and on schedule.
