Job summary

TASC Treatment Alternatives for Stronger Communities is seeking a full-time Controller in Chicago to lead accounting operations and ensure GAAP compliance. You will manage close cycles, controls, and financial reporting for a nonprofit organization, interfacing with leadership and auditors.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting leadership, CPA or progress toward CPA, and experience with nonprofit and grant accounting. Eligible benefits and a competitive salary are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting.
• CPA license preferred or progress toward CPA.
• 5+ years progressively responsible accounting experience including leadership roles.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, internal controls, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.
• Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts; review journal entries.
• Oversee accounts payable, payroll, cash receipts and reconciliations.
• Coordinate annual financial statement audits and Single Audit.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for Board and leadership.
