Job summary

La Jolla Playhouse is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations, oversee monthly and annual close, strengthen internal controls, and provide analysis and reporting to support decision-making. Reporting to the CFO, you will collaborate across departments to translate financial information into actionable insights and ensure nonprofit accounting standards compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Ten or more years of accounting experience.
Advanced proficiency with Excel and enterprise accounting systems.
Knowledge of GAAP standards and nonprofit fund accounting.

Responsibilities

Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with reconciliations and reporting.
Partner with department leaders to provide financial analysis, forecasting, and decision-support tools.
Coordinate with Grants Manager for grant data, budgets, reporting, and compliance.
Support and back up other Accounting team members, including Payroll and AP.
