Job summary

Rotating Machinery Services Inc. in Bethlehem, PA is seeking an experienced MRO Buyer/Purchaser to source parts and support shop operations.

You will quote, negotiate and place orders for MRO items and respond to emergency requirements to keep production on schedule. Responsibilities include implementing VIM hardware, managing open orders in Job Boss, coordinating with suppliers and internal project managers, and driving cost-saving programs while ensuring on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in purchasing, materials management and planning.
• Experience procuring MRO, shop items, raw materials, gaskets, O-rings, hardware and related items.
• Ability to read and understand Bills of Materials, specifications and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Quoting, negotiating and order placement of MRO and emergency commodities.
• Implementation of VIM system for standard hardware and shop support items.
• Purchase indirect shop tooling, cutters, and consumables.
• Develop cost saving strategies and volume discounts for MRO buys.
• Create and process emergency purchase orders to support shop turnaround.
• Track shipments and monitor open orders in Job Boss.
• Coordinate supplier performance and resolve issues with quality control and engineering.
