Job summary

Cerro Wire LLC, part of Marmon Holdings and Berkshire Hathaway, seeks an MRO Buyer to source, purchase, and manage inventory of maintenance, repair, and operating supplies for our plant. You will ensure timely procurement, cost control, quality, and strong supplier relationships to support uptime and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Finance to process requisitions and POs, obtain quotes, negotiate terms, monitor orders, and optimize stocking

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in business, supply chain, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in purchasing, procurement, or inventory control.
• Experience buying MRO materials, industrial equipment, or maintenance parts.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing principles, inventory management, and supplier negotiations.
• Understanding of maintenance and manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase MRO materials, parts, equipment, and services to support facility and production operations.
• Process requisitions and issue purchase orders per company policy.
• Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing, delivery, and service terms.
• Monitor open POs and follow up on overdue shipments.
• Expedite critical materials to minimize downtime and interruptions.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of spare parts and consumables.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers.
• Analyze purchasing data and provide cost-reduction and efficiency recommendations.
• Support annual budgeting for MRO expenditures and ensure compliance.
