Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in the Baltimore-Washington metro area is seeking an engineer to develop performance requirements and plan test & evaluation activities on Navy strategic missile systems.

You will advise government partners on test & evaluation planning, perform reliability analyses, and evaluate flight test telemetry to gauge missile performance. Collaboration with external partners and travel are involved.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace engineering or related field with 2+ years in test & evaluation of aerospace systems.
• Experience with large systems requirements development (DOORS or similar).
• Strong programming skills and MATLAB experience; ability to analyze data and telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Develop performance requirements and evaluation plans for missile systems.
• Perform missile system test and evaluation for Navy/Air Force programs.
• Advise government partners on test & evaluation strategy.
• Evaluate flight test telemetry to assess missile performance during tests.
• Support modeling, simulation, and field site testing activities.
• Conduct reliability modeling for missile and reentry systems.
• Present findings to sponsors and other agency representatives.
• Support field test operations at site locations.
