Job summary

Boot Barn is seeking a Merchandise Planner to develop and communicate financial and inventory plans for assigned categories, aligning with sales and gross margin goals. You will lead pre-season planning, OTB and receipt plans, and collaborate with district managers and buyers to optimize assortments across stores.

The role requires 3–5 years in retail planning, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of corporate Retail Planning/Buying/Allocations experience.
• Strong analytical and quantifiable skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Excel.
• Ability to work in an ever-changing environment with efficiency and accuracy.
• Self-motivated with strong initiative.
• Experience meeting multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review actual sales versus forecast by product types; identify sales opportunities and explain forecast revisions.
• Perform detailed trend analyses for products and provide recommendations based on performance and strategy.
• Manage pre-season planning analysis and preparation for senior management reviews.
• Lead OTB, inventory and receipt plans and adjust forecasts as needed.
• Monitor flow of receipts by store and identify inefficiencies in the process.
• Determine appropriate assortment assignments with District Manager and Buyer balancing volume and space.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis, reporting and project work related to merchandise planning.
• Conduct post-mortem analyses for seasonal events and strategies.
