Job summary

kdc/one, Chemaid is seeking a Buyer - Mechanical & Engineering to source, purchase, and manage inventory of machine parts and maintenance materials to support manufacturing operations. You will work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to ensure timely procurement and minimize downtime.

The role requires 3–5 years of manufacturing purchasing experience, ERP/MRP proficiency, and strong vendor management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
• 3–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience sourcing machine parts, industrial components, maintenance supplies, and engineering-related materials.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Procure spare parts, maintenance supplies, tooling, and engineering materials.
• Review requisitions and issue purchase orders per policy and budget.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers on quality, cost, delivery, and tech capabilities.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms for cost savings.
• Monitor inventory levels and suggest stocking strategies.
• Maintain purchasing records and supplier databases.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance on equipment needs.
• Expedite urgent orders and resolve shipment issues.
• Support preventive maintenance with replacement parts.
• Analyze purchasing trends for process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and safety standards.
• Participate in supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement.
