Position
Strategic MBSE Requirements & ICD Lead – El Segundo, CA (on-site, secure facility).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development of Satellite Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for spacecraft, ground systems, payloads, and cross‑system interfaces in an MBSE environment.
- Collaborate with Configuration Management on Engineering Review Boards (ERBs) and Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).
- Create interface diagrams, data dictionaries, message formats, command and telemetry mappings, and system‑level interface descriptions.
- Identify interface risks and drive technical issue resolution across engineering teams.
- Support system integration and test activities by providing authoritative interface documentation and clarification.
- Ensure documentation complies with best practices, program standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a technical SME reviewing prime contract change proposals.
- Manage and coordinate Interface Control Working Groups (ICWGs) for consistent stakeholder communication.
- Work with the MSEIT modeling team to align models with the technical baseline, including ICDs and requirement flowdown.
- Develop acquisition and technical requirements‑related briefings, plans, papers, and other documentation to support government decision making.
- Collaborate with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and U.S. Space Force members.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in satellite systems, spacecraft development, or aerospace engineering.
- 8+ years of experience working on DoD programs.
- 5+ years of experience developing architecture models.
- 5+ years of experience with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE).
- Direct experience developing or managing ICDs for complex systems.
- Familiarity with spacecraft subsystems and flight hardware (e.g., avionics, payloads, RF comms, power, GNC, thermal, propulsion).
- Ability to read and create schematics, interface diagrams, and data communication structures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a small technical team.
- Proficiency in systems engineering tools such as Cameo, DOORS, MATLAB.
- Proficiency in modeling languages such as SysML, UPDM, DoDAF.
- Excellent technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Work on-site in a secure facility.
- Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI required; U.S. citizenship required.
Qualifications Desired
- Master’s degree in engineering.
- 5+ years of experience with space systems in space or ground segments.
- 5+ years of experience in a space acquisitions environment.
- Experience in satellite hardware and software development.
- MBSE certifications such as OCSMP.
- Professional certifications such as INCOSE CSEP, ESEP, ASEP, or PMP.

Salary Range
$135,000 – $169,000 USD
