Job summary

Bausch + Lomb, a global eye health leader, seeks a Purchasing professional in Rochester, NY to manage transactional, commodity-based purchases and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams.

The role emphasizes issuing POs, tracking deliveries, monitoring lead times, and collaborating with A/P to resolve discrepancies while maintaining supply chain continuity. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving are required; college degree preferred and PeopleSoft experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• 3-5 years purchasing and procurement experience.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; multitasking ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with peers and suppliers.
• Ability to build effective working relationships and solve problems.
• Proficient with MS Office; knowledge of PeopleSoft purchasing a plus.

Responsibilities

• Issue Purchase orders and verify supplier receipt and acknowledgment.
• Use the document control system to monitor raw material specifications and provide latest revision to suppliers.
• Monitor lead times and shipments to meet delivery requirements.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve purchase order, delivery or receipt concerns.
• Coordinate with A/P to resolve match exceptions and invoice holds.
• Monitor in-house and supplier inventory to ensure supply chain continuity.
• Prepare annual blanket orders for review and approval.
