Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services in Platte City, MO seeks a Parts & Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing, material planning, and supplier relationships for the Generator Manufacturing Division. You will release orders, monitor schedules, resolve shortages, and collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Warehouse to maintain material availability while balancing cost, lead times, and quality.

Experience with steel commodities and sourcing hard-to-find materials is a plus; the role

Qualifications

• Previous purchasing, procurement, material planning, inventory, or related manufacturing experience.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and release purchase orders based on material requirements, production schedules, inventory levels, and established purchasing processes.
• Work closely with vendors to ensure materials are available and delivered on schedule.
• Coordinate with subcontract vendors for powder coating, fabricated parts, and outsourced production.
• Research vendor sources, pricing, availability, and product information.
• Monitor open and planned orders to ensure on-time delivery.
• Escalate and assist in resolving material shortages and vendor delays.
