Job summary

Our client in the Litchfield, Michigan area is seeking a Materials Manager to lead inventory movements, scheduling, and production control across manufacturing facilities.

You will oversee material flow, warehouse and shipping/receiving, and develop master production schedules using forecasts and capacity planning, while ensuring data integrity in MES/ERP systems (QAD) and driving continuous improvement with IATF 16949 compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, materials management, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 10 years working in Materials in a Manufacturing Environment
• 5+ years working as a Materials Manager
• Develop and execute materials strategies to support production schedules, new product launches (APQP/PPAP), and capacity planning
• Oversee production scheduling, MRP, and inventory control to achieve targeted inventory turns and minimize excess/obsolete stock

Responsibilities

• Lead inventory movements, scheduling, supply chain flow, and production control across manufacturing facilities
• Oversee daily inventory movements, warehousing, shipping/receiving, and material flow optimization
• Develop and manage master production schedules using sales forecasts, customer demand, and capacity planning
• Ensure data integrity and real-time visibility within MES and ERP platforms (such as QAD)
• Mentor, lead, and develop a high-performing materials and production control team
• Drive continuous improvement in material flow, supplier performance, and cost reduction initiatives while ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements and industry standards
