Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company is seeking a Materials & Inventory Analyst to support efficient management of materials and inventory for sites within the Vistra Nuclear Generation fleet. You will optimize stock levels, manage replenishment strategies and maintain data quality to ensure availability at the lowest TCO.

The role partners with O&M teams and Strategic Sourcing to drive cost savings, standardize parts, and improve inventory processes while maintaining safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• 3+ years of warehouse supervision or other relevant experience in procurement/inventory management
• Passion for reducing costs and driving optimum business outcomes
• Lean and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to negotiate and persuade others
• General business knowledge with broad-based materials management process understanding
• Strong ability to facilitate cross functional teams
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to mine and evaluate technical, performance and financial data
• Demonstrated understanding of financial and inventory management systems
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office capabilities (PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills

Responsibilities

• Optimize inventory levels using optimization techniques in the EAM system and with site teams
• Determine stocking strategies (Min/Max, On-demand, VMI, Kanban)
• Manage inventory reorder for assigned sites
• Maintain data quality for item descriptions, manufacturer, part numbers and vendors
• Identify and standardize parts/materials and low-cost substitutes
• Provide materials and inventory expertise on cross-functional teams
• Support Strategic Sourcing on pricing, contracts, and automation opportunities
• Identify centralization opportunities for common spares
• Improve inventory efficiencies by reducing excess material
• Issue and monitor inventory reports and trend analyses
• Ensure compliance with safety, MSDS and Hazcom requirements
• Lead Inventory Review processes for warehouses and disposition obsolete parts
• Optimize repairable items and salvage related activities
• Identify freight and delivery cost optimization plans
• Drive cost savings versus baselines
• Lead process audits and warehouse compliance audits
• Support operations/maintenance and warehouse staff with procedures and processes
