Job summary

Bio-Rad Laboratories in Hercules, CA, is seeking a Purchasing/Materials Specialist to support manufacturing operations. The role focuses on placing POs, managing suppliers, monitoring inventory, and ensuring timely delivery and quality to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 1–3 years' experience in purchasing or production planning.
• Experience expediting and issuing purchase orders.
• Experience with SAP strongly preferred.
• CPM/CPIM coursework preferred.
• Full knowledge of the principles and theories of purchasing/materials.
• Proficiency in Windows, Teams, and Office.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders for manufacturing goods and services.
• Manage supplier relationships to optimize supply chain efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels to support production goals.
• Issue POs to support production and resolve supply problems.
• Actively manage SAP workflow.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and minimize overdue invoices.
• Evaluate stocking levels to meet business needs.
• Ensure on-time delivery and quality.
• Process expedites with scheduling team.
• Introduce efficiencies in purchasing.
• Participate in supplier audits and business reviews.
• Comply with certifications and safety requirements.
• Maintain records related to purchasing activities.
• Process RTVs for non-conforming materials.
