Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, seeks a non-plate Buyer to support Clinton, IL, Fort Worth, TX, and Tulsa, OK plants. The Buyer will handle material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution to ensure smooth operations.

The role involves coordinating material flows, analyzing production forecasts, negotiating favorable terms, and aligning purchasing with logistics and operations to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of procurement experience required.
• Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience in purchasing steel is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate incoming movement of hardware, fasteners, structural components, and delivery services to ensure material availability and delivery when needed to meet production schedules.
• Compile data on order volume, production schedules, and forecasts and apply statistical methods to estimate future materials requirements.
• Negotiate favorable terms and volume discounts with approved suppliers; prepare and process purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination of Purchasing Disciplines.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor inbound movement of materials from suppliers, with emphasis on import/export logistics and documentation.
• Determine material requirements and coordinate the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering.
• Coordinate information and activities with other team members.
• May coordinate or exchange information with third parties, vendors, or customers.
