Job summary

Zipline is seeking a Material Planning Manager to own material availability and data integrity for a major drone-delivery system in South San Francisco. You will align production schedules with supplier commitments and maintain BOM accuracy across complex programs.

In this role, you will drive planning KPIs, manage escalations, and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sourcing to ensure on-time deployments. On-site with light travel, you will influence readiness and scale-up efforts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience owning material planning, master-data governance, or supply planning for complex electromechanical or avionics products.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or equivalent) and BOM accuracy in changing environments.
• Proven track record reducing shortages and improving forecast accuracy and inventory health.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end material availability; translate production schedules into supplier commitments and replenishment plans.
• Govern master data and planning parameters as the authoritative source for MRP systems.
• Lead engineering-change integration for materials and coordinate supplier actions to minimize disruption.
• Define and own planning KPIs; drive improvements through data analysis and inventory modeling.
• Triage shortages, expedite buys, reallocate inventory, and manage escalations to prevent line stoppages.
• Partner with Sourcing and Supplier Industrialization to validate capacity and mitigate risk.
• Support prototype-to-volume transitions with readiness planning and go/no-go inputs to launches.
• Build and maintain weekly dashboards; present root-cause analyses and fixes.
