Job summary

The Vanguard Group is seeking a strategic market development leader to identify and advance next-horizon opportunities, and to shape Vanguard’s future through competitive strategy, trend analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will partner with consulting and business development teams to drive enterprise-level strategy and to accelerate technology-enabled initiatives, creating new ways of working across the firm.

Qualifications

• Broad operational & analytical skillset across data analysis and research.
• Technical fluency enabling evaluation of new technologies.
• First-principles thinker with ability to synthesize tech, market trends, and client behavior.
• Ownership, proactivity, and self-starter attitude.
• High EQ and collaboration with executives, business, tech, and partners.
• Proven track record of extraordinary achievement in prior roles or academics.
• Domain expertise in financial services and/or financial technology.

Responsibilities

• Identify, validate, and advance next-horizon opportunities that shape Vanguard’s future.
• Lead competitive strategy and scenario planning to anticipate market shifts, breakthrough technologies, and evolving client needs.
• Monitor industry, investor, and innovation trends to develop hypotheses and help senior leaders see around corners.
• Partner with Vanguard’s Strategic Consulting and Strategic Business Development teams to drive enterprise-level strategy.
• Collaborate across Vanguard to advance high-impact technology and digital product incubation.
• Synthesize complex data into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
• Develop creative technology-enabled solutions enabling new ways of working.

Education

Undergraduate degree or equivalent
