Job summary

Federal Equipment Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio, part of Fairbanks Morse Defense, is seeking a Sr. Program Manager to lead the integrated program team, own the IMS and budget, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery for defense/aerospace projects.

The role requires 8+ years in complex technical programs, strong leadership, government contracting knowledge (FAR/DFAR), PMP preferred, and willingness to travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related technical field preferred.
• 8+ years of experience leading complex technical programs in design/manufacturing/defense environments.
• Experience with design/build or complex manufacturing environments.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• FAR/DFAR government contracting knowledge.
• Experience managing major subcontractors and suppliers globally.
• Proficient in MS Office, MS Project; strong financial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integrated program team with accountability for schedule, cost, technical execution, and profitability.
• Own senior-level customer relationships and manage expectations and negotiations.
• Develop and manage Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and program budget; establish milestones and critical path.
• Identify and mitigate program risks; pursue opportunities to improve performance and profitability.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams.
• Oversee subcontractor and supplier governance to meet technical, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Manage program financial performance, including variance analysis and EAC reporting.
• Mentor junior program managers and promote PM best practices.
