Job summary

SPX Technologies, a leading engineering firm, is seeking a Buyer in California. You will manage purchase orders, optimize inventory, and ensure timely deliveries while expediting PO changes. You’ll collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to maintain optimal stock levels and drive cost efficiency.

This role emphasizes data-driven decisions and strong communication. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in manufacturing purchasing, Infor ERP experience, and a solid grasp of supply chain processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of buying/purchasing experience in manufacturing/multi-site environments.
• Strong experience with ERP systems – Infor preferred.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, inventory control and supply chain principles.
• Analytical mindset with data-driven decision making.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Issue and manage purchase orders aligned with demand forecasts and production schedules.
• Monitor outstanding POs to ensure timely receipt of products.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve delays and ensure inventory availability.
• Update PO information (cost, quantity, delivery date) as needed.
• Coordinate modifications and ensure accurate order fulfilment.
• Communicate delivery times through SAP or reporting channels.
• Maintain records including POs and supplier information.
• Foster relationships with suppliers; be the main contact for inquiries.
