The role reports to the Director of Managed Care Contracting and requires experience in Excel-based modeling, payer analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize net revenue and sustainability for an independent community health system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of healthcare finance, managed care, revenue cycle, or payer analytics experience.
• Experience building financial models and analyses in Excel for reimbursement or net revenue.
• Experience with healthcare claims data and interpreting payer contract terms.
• Strong ability to present analytical findings to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain financial models of payer rates, terms, and payment methods to quantify net revenue impact.
• Run what-if analyses for rate proposals, payment methods, and utilization scenarios.
• Analyze claims data to develop payer baselines, trends, and benchmarks.
• Prepare rate comparisons, yield analyses, and payer scorecards for negotiations and exec reporting.
• Support budgeting/forecasting with rate changes and payer mix shifts.
• Monitor contracts for deviations, underpayments, and payer policy changes.
• Track payment variances, recoveries, and corrections with Revenue Cycle.
• Maintain contract repository and renewal date tracking.
• Prepare materials for payer meetings, negotiations, and executive reporting.
• Ensure data governance and reproducibility of contract models.
