Job summary

The Catholic Community Foundation of the Diocese of Richmond is seeking a Director of Advancement to lead all major and planned gift efforts. You will design and execute a comprehensive development program, supervise the Philanthropy Advisors, manage donor portfolios, and ensure revenue targets are met to support diocesan ministries and parishes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 10+ years of demonstrated success in major and planned gifts, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Proven success in personally closing five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts and leading teams to do the same.
• Exceptional ability to mentor staff, manage multiple priorities, and lead during growth.
• Fluency in English and Spanish preferred; mastery of moves management and wealth-screen data.
• Well versed in endowments, charitable gift annuities, trusts, and bequests.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser's Edge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Philanthropy Advisors (Major Gift Officers).
• Set fundraising targets for staff and conduct annual performance reviews.
• Develop major and planned gift strategies to build a multi-figure gifts pipeline.
• Cultivate and solicit major gifts from high-capacity donors.
• Manage budget for major gifts, events, travel, and donor cultivation.
• Provide high-level reporting on performance and pipeline health.
• Maintain donor records in Raiser's Edge NXT.
