Job summary

Southwest Baptist University is seeking a Development Officer (Major Gifts) to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, organizations, and friends capable of significant philanthropic investments in the University's mission.

You will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, conduct meaningful donor visits, and collaborate with university leadership to align fundraising with priority initiatives. Travel and occasional evening/weekend work are expected.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in fundraising and alumni relations.
• Ability to cultivate major gift prospects and donors.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors.
• Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.
• Conduct donor visits and align proposals with donor interests.
• Collaborate with university leadership on priorities and campaigns.
• Represent SBU at campus and community events and maintain CRM records.
• Ensure confidentiality of donor relationships and adhere to ethics.
• Support capital campaigns and stewardship initiatives.
