Job summary

Smurfit WestRock is seeking a Maintenance Planner in the United States to optimize production equipment availability through planning, scheduling, coordinating, and reporting of repair activities. You will report to the Planning Superintendent and coordinate with multiple departments to minimize downtime.

The role requires a high school diploma (bachelor's preferred), 5–10 years in the pulp and paper industry, and hands-on experience with MS Project, JDE, CMMS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
• 5-10 years of experience in Pulp and Paper industry preferred
• Experience in project management and planning, predictive and preventative maintenance programs
• MS Project, JDE, Word, Excel experience preferred
• Supervisory or management experience preferred
• Safety mindset and strong safety policy understanding

Responsibilities

• Screen incoming work orders and identify basic requirements and planning needs
• Prepare detailed job packages for craftsmen to enable safe and efficient work
• Preview, audit, and review repairs under the work order process
• Ensure documentation is completed at job completion
• Plan and schedule unit outages using MS Project
• Lead the organization and review of outage work into an integrated schedule
• Specify and order parts and materials needed for planned repairs
• Develop scopes of work, solicit bids, and coordinate contractors as needed
• Operate within planning systems and pursue continuous improvement
• Keep equipment BOM current in CMMS
• Interface with all operating departments
• Support safety and environmental compliance
