Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Manager in Corporate Transaction Tax & Advisory (CTTA) to lead tax planning engagements, due diligence, and post-merger integration for clients across industries. The successful candidate will apply deep tax knowledge and strong client communication to deliver strategic tax solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with state, local, and international tax teams, building tax models, and contributing to post-deal value creation.

Qualifications

CPA, JD (with bachelor's degree in accounting, preferred), Master’s in Taxation, or LL.M. in Taxation.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate understanding of complex tax concepts and apply to client patterns.
Lead day-to-day workstreams on tax planning engagements; deliver analyses and work product.
Perform and review tax due diligence; assess risks and draft client-ready summaries.
Support post-merger integration planning and execution; coordinate tasks and track items.
Build and review tax models (benefit/step-up, E&P/stock and basis, costs) and document assumptions.
Review tax provisions of purchase agreements; prepare issues lists and recommendations.
Coordinate with state/local and international tax teams and diligence colleagues; prepare issues lists.
Maintain regular client communication and support Directors and Senior Directors.
