Job summary

Coordinate the receipts and shipment of goods and services according to the production plan, overseeing shipping and logistics across five locations. Develop freight plans to move goods internally and to customers and vendors.

Lead a team, optimize costs, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain accurate inventory records. Strong negotiation and ERP/MRP skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in shipping/receiving and logistics within manufacturing.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive management experience in shipping/receiving and logistics.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (ECi M1 or Epicor preferred).
• APICS certifications are a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Strong written and oral communication, negotiation and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement shipping and logistics strategies to optimize costs, quality, and delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement goals with business objectives.
• Create, document and manage an international logistics process.
• Review shipping documentation for compliance with standards and regulations.
• Plan and monitor inbound and outgoing deliveries.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and perform audits.
• Analyze pricing trends, negotiate favorable terms, and reduce freight costs.
• Mitigate freight risks through contingency planning.
• Continuously improve shipping and receiving processes.
• Identify areas for efficiency gains and implement best practices.
• Ensure accurate shipping manifests for outbound trucks.
