Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in logistics and/or transportation required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, AS400, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS); advanced system skills preferred.
• Experience in foodservice distribution and freight operations preferred.
• Associate degree in business, logistics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex data and resolve issues involving multiple variables.

Responsibilities

• Operates logistics programs within budgetary guidelines and financial controls.
• Manages delivery initiatives and methods which meet company, vendor and customer needs.
• Manage internal and external communications within opco and external entities as needed.
• Work to negotiate lowest freight costs without reducing service level; identify backhaul opportunities to optimize fleet utilization.
• Manage and analyze department reports to identify needed adjustments to drive efficiencies, e.g. financial reports and vendor profiles.
• Manage carriers’ freight bills to insure they agree with confirmations and invoice opco for freight moves.
