Job summary

Macdonald & Cody, LLP, a California insurance defense litigation firm, is seeking a driven Legal Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead recruiting across its California offices (Irvine, Riverside, Monrovia, San Diego, Woodland Hills and Sausalito).

You will manage full-cycle recruiting for Attorneys, Paralegals, Legal Secretaries and related roles, build candidate pipelines, conduct phone interviews, provide summaries and recommendations, and collaborate with firm leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ recruiting experience, preferably in legal industry.
• Strong sourcing and interviewing skills with the ability to assess candidates and communicate recommendations to hiring managers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate candidate and hiring information.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a team.
• Experience recruiting within a multi-office organization; travel required.

Responsibilities

• Full-cycle recruitment and hiring coordination for positions across multiple offices in California.
• Proactive sourcing for hard-to-fill attorney positions.
• Recruit for Attorneys, Paralegals, Legal Secretaries, and other office hiring needs.
• Develop and post compelling job descriptions on firm sites and external boards.
• Source, identify, and engage qualified candidates via job boards, networks, referrals, and other channels.
• Conduct initial candidate phone interviews and assess against position requirements.
• Present qualified candidates to management with summaries and recommendations.
• Support firmwide recruiting initiatives and attend state/national legal events.
