GDM Seeds is seeking a Legal Counsel to partner with business leaders, providing strategic legal guidance while minimizing risk. The role collaborates with global teams to ensure compliance with laws, corporate governance, and contractual obligations.

It includes contract negotiation, IP protection, regulatory compliance, and risk management, with four in-office days and one remote day. The ideal candidate holds a J.D., is admitted to the bar, and has 3–5 years of relevant experience in

Qualifications

• J.D. required from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Bar admission in at least one U.S. state; Indiana admission preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides legal counsel on a broad range of business, operational, and legal matters.
• Advises leadership on legal risks, compliance, rights, obligations, and risk mitigation.
• Works as SME in IP, commercial transactions, cybersecurity & data privacy, labor and employment, environmental law, or finance-related matters.
• Drafts, reviews, negotiates, and manages contracts: commercial, employment, vendor, licensing, supply, service.
• Supports pre-litigation disputes, governmental inquiries, investigations, and compliance initiatives.
• Coordinates with outside counsel and manages external resources.
• Develops and supports corporate policies, procedures, compliance initiatives, and training.
• Performs legal audits to identify regulatory risk.
• Other duties as assigned.
