Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks an Executive Director of Safe and Supportive Schools to provide districtwide leadership for safe, welcoming, well‑managed environments. The role directs safe school frameworks, behavior prevention, and threat assessment across the district, partnering with administrators, families, law enforcement, and community groups.

The position requires a Specialist's Degree, Georgia leadership certification eligibility, and at least five years of executive leadership

Qualifications

Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (Required)
Relevant certification or professional training in school safety, behavior intervention, restorative practices, emergency management, crisis response, threat assessment, or related areas (Preferred)
Specialist's Degree in related field (Required)

Responsibilities

Provide districtwide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for safe, supportive, welcoming, and well‑managed school environments.
Lead development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of safety, behavior prevention, and threat assessment systems.
Collaborate with district leaders, families, law enforcement, and community partners to ensure safe and supportive schools.
Develop professional learning for administrators and staff on behavior prevention, restorative practices, and crisis response.
Oversee districtwide student conduct and disciplinary frameworks with a focus on prevention and appropriate accountability.
