Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a Senior Program Lead, Professional Education, Specialty Conferences to provide strategic leadership for a portfolio of scientific conferences and educational programs, including Epicenter events across multiple disciplines.

You will oversee growth initiatives, volunteer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality meetings that advance our mission and meet financial objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience.
• 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing scientific conferences.
• Experience supervising professional staff.
• Experience developing budgets and financial performance.
• Strong project management and multi-initiative oversight.
• Experience working with volunteers and committees.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for a portfolio of specialty scientific conferences and educational programs.
• Lead efforts to achieve attendance, revenue, and net revenue goals.
• Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to expand reach and impact.
• Serve as staff partner to volunteer leadership and planning groups.
• Directly supervise program management staff and mentor teams.
• Develop and manage conference budgets and financial forecasts.
• Oversee planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of conferences and educational initiatives.
