The Illinois Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit seeks a Deputy Chief of Investigations to supervise a team conducting criminal and civil investigations into Medicaid fraud, waste, and abuse in Illinois.

You will provide direction, review reports, approve surveillance, oversee search warrants, coordinate cross‑jurisdictional work, liaise with other agencies, and mentor staff while enforcing policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field is required.
• At least five (5) years in a supervisory investigative role, or seven (7) years in law enforcement.
• Ability to coordinate cross-jurisdictional investigations and liaison with other agencies.
• Experience with both criminal and civil investigations, and health care/medical coding concepts knowledge is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide guidance and supervision to a team conducting criminal and civil investigations into Medicaid fraud.
• Review investigative reports, assist with case development and strategic planning.
• Oversee surveillance, undercover operations, search warrants, and enforcement actions.
• Coordinate joint investigations and maintain relationships with other agencies.
• Recruit, hire, and train staff; enforce policies and procedures.
