The State of Texas, through the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, seeks a Sergeant to lead advanced criminal investigations into Medicaid provider fraud and nursing home cases. This role reports to the Office of the Attorney General and involves collaboration with FBI and other agencies, with potential top secret clearances in select cases.

Applicants must pass background and motor vehicle checks and be prepared for extensive travel and long hours.

Competenze

• Graduation from high school or equivalent education; 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university; or substitute an associate/bachelor's degree for education requirements.
• Four years of full-time criminal investigative experience as a licensed peace officer or comparable federal officer.
• TCOLE certification and knowledge of healthcare fraud investigation training needs.
• Knowledge of Texas Penal Code, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, and federal statutes.
• Ability to develop strategic plans, budgets, and supervise others.

• Conduct complex criminal investigations of Medicaid provider fraud and nursing home-related investigations.
• Assist prosecution as needed and collaborate with other law enforcement agencies.
• Work requires background and credit checks and may require Top Secret clearance in some cases.
• Travel up to 20% and work extended hours when necessary.
