Job summary

Samsung SDI America seeks an Associate General Counsel – Labor and Employment to act as a strategic legal adviser across corporate offices, JVs, startups, and manufacturing facilities in the EV, energy storage, and battery sectors.

You will provide practical guidance on traditional labor and employment law, regulatory compliance, immigration, and employee benefits while collaborating with HR, Labor Relations, and Operations to align legal risk with business goals.

Qualifications

• Significant experience handling U.S. labor and employment law in corporate or law firm settings.
• Experience managing employment litigation, government agency matters, outside counsel, and legal budgets.
• Knowledge of wage-and-hour laws, workplace investigations, immigration compliance, and Form I-9 procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice on U.S. labor and employment law matters to executive leadership and HR teams.
• Translate complex legal requirements into practical guidance for stakeholders.
• Address labor and employment risks proactively while supporting business objectives.
• Advise on joint ventures, plant launches, restructurings, and workforce-related initiatives.
• Counsel on NLRA matters, union organizing, bargaining, and labor relations activities.
• Oversee pre-litigation disputes, agency charges, and litigation processes.
• Manage outside counsel and oversee related budgets and relationships.
